Thread: CAF Project Jeep Build

    Re: CAF Project Jeep Build

Time to do some sound deadening!

Started with removing the interior, cleaned all surfaces.

Applied sound deadening material / closed cell foam on all metal surfaces in the front of the vehicle.

See this wire harness? This can cause noise as it vibrates against the nearby sheet metal, adding a subwoofer adds a lot of vibration within the vehicle, I want to make sure this won’t create noise.

I start with cutting a strip of closed cell foam that is about as long as the section of the wire harness.

Now I wrap the wire harness with the ccf and then secure it in position with cloth Tesa tape.

One bundle done, time for another.

Clips can pose issues too, I wrap them with cloth tesa tape as well.

    Front is complete.

I follow a similar procedure for the rear of the vehicle.

Done! Ready to re-install the interior! Once I go to install the speakers in the front dash and rear roll bar I will perform similar tasks to sound treat those areas of the vehicle. 

If you would like to see the video I made documenting this process on YouTube you can do so here:
