Just some stuff from my 86 Mazda

86' Mazda b2000 lx cab plus.
five lug conversion, air ride, roll pan with relocated license plate, 17" Borbet wheels with Kumho tires, Ford Ranger bed cover modified to fit

Aftermarket power windows, scratch built door panels with a simple pattern carved into the foam, scratch built kick panels housing 6.5" Memphis component set, Clarion 6" monitor rear mounted in factory radio console, Clarion head unit relocated to where the glove box used to be, air ride switches mounted in factory dash pocket. Oh yeah, there was a PS2 hid in the back of the cab also.

Vega 10" sub in 1.5 cubic feet tuned to 35 hz, Audio Control EQL, MTX 2 way crossover, and Stinger distribution block on the end.
Not pictured are the MTX Thunder 280 and Thunder 240 mounted under plexi with exposed circuit boards on the other side of the enclosure.

    Better shot of the front.

All of this was done in the early to mid 2000's when I still played with this truck. As of now it just a big piece of yard art that I might one day do something with.

Air ride and 5 lug conversion were installed by myself and my good friend Scott.
Kick panels, interior dye/paint, all tweed wrapping, carpet install, most stereo wiring and install were done by myself. I had the enclosure built due to lack of time and the shop who did it for me had done well on prior installs.

Heh...I remember hanging out at SoundsGreat and Long's Electronics back in the late 80's and early 90's drooling over the car audio stuff. I never had a lowrider, but I knew quite a few guys that did...and they all had cabs full of subs. It's nice being able to look back.

I remember hanging around both as well. First real demo vehicles I ever saw( outside of a few at the World of Wheels maybe ) were at the Longs location by Century Plaza. They had a several Alpine vehicles out there after the V12 amps and ZR series subs came out. That was probably mid 90's. Also stopped in at Audio Systems in Hueytown quite often since they were the most local to me.
    Longs had PPI, JL, Quart.
SoundsGreat had the Fosgate and Kicker lines covered.
Audio Systems bounced around between Orion, Savard, Soundstream, Hart/Mccauley.

Did you ever hear the red B2000 he called Ground Zero? You were sitting with your back against six 15's.

    No.
I did get a chance to sit in a Cerwin Vega truck at a demo in Forestdale. The guy was out of Georgia and had all Xtant amps in the bed and 6 18" Strokers in the extended cab of a sierra 1500.
It actually hurt a little bit.

Wow! Probably the loudest demo I hear was the Orion van which had 9 XTR 12's in individual 6th order enclosures. They were playing at the SoundsGreat in Huffman, and after a while, Serra Chevrolet up the street called and complained he was rattling their windows.

Oh, no pics but my truck also had a weber carb, header, and an Irragi high output alternator for the compressors and stereo.
Also had a crap ass Optima red top...that later got replaced with a battery from Walmart. Amazingly the 50 dollar battery never gave me any problems. The Optima, not so much.

I miss low riders, they were so much fun!!
I was in a car club for YEARS in Ft Lauderdale called Animated Toys, we were one of several clubs in the area in the 80's and 90's that hosted shows and cruised the strip every weekend.
First low rider was a 1983 Honda Civic S, it was stolen and later found gutted(car was so much fun to drive) followed up with a 1990 Ford Escort GT that was so low my friends nicknamed it the reflector collector
