Sound competition

Comps used to be fun but they do get old. GTG's are much more casual and there is a better chance of actually listening to other peoples cars and getting tuning tips.

I'm seriously considering starting a series of GTG's in the PA/MD area. We can do a comp that is peer judged if everyone agrees and it will pay out 100% of the cash that is paid in for the top 3 that place. You use the music that you are very familiar with, the score sheet is simple and easy to use with very well written instructions so there is no confusion.

I would be more than happy to send you guys score sheets so you can have then printed up. There are a shit ton of peeps in Austin and the area as well as SoLa.

What are the scoring categories?

Tonality(highs, midrange, midbass and sub), staging(l/c/r, width, depth, height), and realism/believability. The staging has pics so you know how to score it and tonality has reference for scoring.

go to the orgs website, all of them have sample score sheets often with detailed descriptions of what the judges are looking for.

Also, this may be a bit off topic but I need a tuning/test disc. I see people mention the Focal disc a lot. Which disc would y'all recommend and where can I get it?

The Chesky disk is really good as it has liner notes in between each of the tracks.
