    Sound competition

What are your thoughts on competition in SQ? Just curious, as a competitor for years on and off the last year or so I've had a hard time getting motivated to build a competition worthy car.
Anyone else ever competed or still compete and your thoughts?

I've done a few USACI shows in MS, LA, and TX. Except for hanging out with friends, they were all pretty bad experiences. The people that run the events around here really don't give a shit about SQ. The one IASCA comp I've been to was very well run. I might do some more of those if they are close enough.

Too many bass heads in the south. I'd like to see how my system stacks up or at least have a different reason to motivate myself to better my install and tuning skills. But I don't think my location provides any good outlets for such a thing.

Over at Deema in my Louisiana group I played around with the idea of hosting a GTG like the ones Erin puts on. It actually garnered some interest but life got in the way. Now that I'm just about done with my install I may pursue that again.

My car does not have a comp install. However, if there's a comp close and dollars allow I'll do sound only.

@ Fric:I chalk it up to one too many trailer trash dope head usaci directors that live hand to mouth off the few bucks they make off running shitty little shows.

We have enough shows here, I guess I just don't find it fun anymore, or my priorities have changed. I don't mind judging them but I just don't have the desire to spend weeks building a car and then weeks tuning for shows.
MECA is ok, much "easier" to prepare for
IASCA is ok, but getting ready for an IASCA show takes time.
    USACi is a joke...

I'm not 100% sure who runs Scrapin the Coast, but it's not the same ones I was referring to. I don't think SQ is a priority, though.

Agreed. The rush to get ready takes some of the fun out of it, and it seems like work is always busy the week of a comp, too.

It's definitely a low rider/SPL event but I've heard there are some SQ cars in attendance.
The thing is, I have no idea if my vehicle would even be a contender. I'm thinking not cause I'm having issues finding more width and any depth. But at a USAC event I may have the best system there. Like the above picture insinuates, it doesn't matter who you battled when who you battled was crap.
