Played around with the GS9 on Saturday... Oh I'm liking this unit... very much...

No doubt it's going to find it's way into my TSX - now to just decide where and how to install it.

Also pretty sure I'll be incorporating a Nexus 7 tablet into the car also... possibly similar to the below photo:

Think the Sony GS9 will go into the map pocket area pretty easily in similar fashion.

Well I've been sting around with an old Nexus 7 tablet and really starting to learn a lot about the possibilities of a car audio tablet... really very cool stuff !

Started ordering some parts to integrate a tablet into the TSX. .

Found a nice kit at Fifield Customs online...

Also ordered a wireless charging pad...

    Really very excited about this...

That will definitely be a very awesome integration.

Why cant you? Both of your cars have double din openings, and (if you don't mind leaving them in the car all the time) you could do a Nexus 7 mounted behind the bezel and not have to mod it.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, (which was like $249 has better resolution that an iPad Mini Retina) then out to an OTG USB Y cable, 2 cheap 5v power supplies (Anker car charger and a USB Buddy 3A, 5v power supply...about $50 for both) a Behringer UCA222 (about $30) that gives me optical, RCA, and adjustable headphone outputs. I ran optical to the input on my BitOne. Works great.

I talked to Ben Zimmerman about IASCA rules regarding cars with no CD drive, and he said they have adapted the rules to work with cars like mine, where they can just plug in a USB thumb drive....but their thumb drive is duped at 320kbps, not FLAC, ALAC or WAV formats. He said he thought they'd be pretty leanient if I had the IASCA disc burned in ALAC or FLAC on my tablet. But I haven't tried it yet.

A Joycon EXR will allow you to retain your steering wheel controls. I used one with a modded AmazonBasics 4 port hub that cost me about $5.

Now, a tablet isn't for everyone. The Nexus 7 has a lot of car-oriented firmware available for it, but not mine so much, so it's a little glitchy. Sometimes it doesn't always recognize the UCA222 (rare) and sometimes the battery will drain even though I closed all the running apps...also sometimes it says charging, but when I take it out of the dash (mine is removable) it shows whatever the battery was at before being docked in my car. Nothing crazy, but not as smooth as a good HU...on the other hand, lots of free apps, Tasker, and more make it a pretty cool option.

    Jay

Re: Acura TSX - Sinfoni | Quartorigo system build by Sonus Car Audio

Mostly the reason I can't in the car is because I'm already going optical into the Helix from the Denon. The Denon does have an Aux input but I'm not sure how it works. I've tried hooking up my Ipod using a rca into a 3.5 connector but nothing will play when I activate the aux function on the radio. I can't seem to find a manual for that head unit that's not in Japanese, to see what I'm doing wrong.

Now, in the truck, I don't see it being that much of an issue. I would just have to figure out how.

I don't think the aux in will send signals out the optical cable, only CD signals go out optically, you'll need to connect the RCA's as well to have the aux-in work.

Yeah, that's what I discovered. The other problem I have is I can't go both optical and rca into the Helix. Not that big a deal cause I didn't use my Ipod with the P99 that much either. Was just hoping that could be an option.
