I think the main issue was with the pentastar and the way it was mounted allowed heat soak.. But when they go, they go in a spectacular manner.

Is there lots of sparks and fire?

It smells like hell and smokes. Did not see anything as I was behind the wheel, but it was certainly discolored. There was a recall for them.

Of course, the vehicle will tell you every single stat of the body and engine... except voltage. I think our 2015 does tell voltage though.

    Dummy loads.

If I read it correctly, and I could be wrong, a dummy load is an inefficient tool for system setup. For bench testing an amp to determine it's maximum output power it works, but it's not a dynamic test . A dummy load is straight resistance but a speaker, though rated in ohms, is impedance. Impedance is a different animal than resistance. I think a speaker is essentially an inductor, and it will measure different impedance at different frequencies. am I wrong?

It's a cap, inductor, and resistor, but a dummy load is better to load an amp with than consistently blowing speakers to get an honest durability test.
