Thread: '86 El Camino Build

Holy shit...I applaud your indecisiveness (it's why all my gear is in my office). Have you thought about using Birch to save weight and allow you to move the enclosures more easily?

In hindsight birch may have been a better choice but the size at 20"x53"x35" in the largest dimensions is more of an issue than the weight which will end up around ~160 pounds when done and I'm not sure the 30-40 pounds saved would make much difference as far as moving it around.

Is it really that small if a difference in an enclosure that large? Well, poop. You now have me thinking I need to go bigger. I was planning on 15s, but I kinda want to make an 18 or two fit now

Iirc birch is around 80# a sheet and mdf 100# a sheet give or take a little so at my ~160# estimate that would be a little over a sheet and a half. I'm hoping with the 18's I'll finally have something that can keep up with my front speakers.

Tried to order the Soundstream amps but my dealer said they were discontinued and I didn't want to pay the price they go for online and with adding the second sub space is at a premium so I ordered this little guy.

Didn't have enough dog food for this one. A little smaller than I hoped but ended up at 7.6 cubic feet.
