    BMW E46 center channel build

Some pics of a little project I am working on...

my buddy wanted a center channel in his E46 to help with the some hurdles he cant seem to overcome with the MS-8, also its a convertible and he needs a little more umph up front.

Some basic info. I wanted to design the center channel to be pleasing to the eye, ear, and complement the car. I started designing it by playing off the existing lines of the dash directly above the radio opening. Next I took the same line that the glove box has and I flipped it and inverted it to give me the right side profile and did essentially the same on the left. The forward most part has the exact same radius as the windshield curve. Overall I am satisfied with the shape, even though it is not a basic symmetrical shape.

Onto the woofer and tweeter. It is not centered in the opening for a reason. Why put a center channel in a car if it isn't going to be placed and aligned in the dead center. This will not be a factor when the grille has been covered with grille cloth.

It was very easy, because the owner did it!
