Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Looking at going with JL audio C3 components in the Wrangler. She had JL audio in our Subaru Forester before this, and loved it. Was C5 comps, with C2 coax. But I've had these C3 before, and we enjoyed them. Happen to have a set of 6.5" amd 5.25" collecting dust, could easily pop them into the dash and soundbar.
Already started tracing out some adapters. Just need some time to do the swap, and save up for one of JL's little four channel amplifiers. Really liking those new RD amps - may give one of those a try.
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Well, small change of plans. Need to get the stock speakers out and make some adapters. Still planning on using both JL C3 component sets, but may also recone one of the busted 12W6V2 sitting in storage, and drag an HD900/5 out too for this build. Should make the wife very happy to have some good quality jams in there.
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
One of the 12W6V2 refoamed quite successfully!!! Still not sure about the other one, it's sagging very bad and can hear a scratchy sound when you try to pull the cone back up.

But, she now has a complete setup ready to go. Just need to get started.
Total package will be:
Kenwood DDX773BH
iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR adapter
iDatalink Maestro HRN-RR-CH1 harness
Metra 95-6511 Dash Kit
Metra 40-EU10 Antenna Adapter
JL Audio HD900/5 five channel amplifier
JL Audio C3-650 comp set
JL Audio C3-525 comp set
JL Audio 12W6V2 12" subwoofer
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Not many audio updates on this one. Had to reinstall the Maestro after the service did an ECM flash, but other than that, it and the Kenwood have been flawless.
Did do an upgrade though recently - wife picked up some new wheels, and found an amazing deal on these tires from the same place that helped us with the Grand Cherokee. Now we just have to get the 2.5" lift kit installed!

Hopefully I can work on the audio soon. She is not wanting a subwoofer that takes up a lot of room (like the 12W6V2 would) so that area is proving to be a challenge.
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Man those rims and tires look MEAN. You know where y'all need to go now;)
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
How appealing ! Really !
A 13TW5-3 is just what you need. A circle inside a circle design. Figure 16" H/26" W/6" D using 1/2" with a bracing board from side-to-side and end-to-end.
Good call on blue ! Wheels and tires make the look ! SWEET

If you pull the heater controls, behind them, at the bottom of the center console, there should be a black box held in with 3 screws. It is the U-Connect module, the factory USB connects to it. I just did one the other day, and it was the first time I'd ever retained it.
IIRC, when the Uconnect module is still in the vehicle, it was the plug nearest the steering column.
I recommend unplugging the module's 24pin plug, so it doesn't try to pair to your (or your wife's) phones.

The Mall. lol
Re: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Hey Jay! Thanks man. Ironically, the center console USB still works. I'm guessing it's purely because of the Maestro unit, but it does work. Comes up as USB2 on the Kenwood if I remember correctly. That Maestro piece has worked very well for the past few years. Only had one hiccup, and a quick reset of the unit fixed that.

No doubt! We've only taken it to Uwharrie a few times, but will be taking her to the Outer Banks later in the year for our anniversary to drive on the northern part of the beach, maybe see some of the horses running out there.
