more more yet another DIYMA refugee
Hard to write an introduction here without bashing that other place.
I hope to make some new friends here!
Is there a way to *view new posts* while filtering out certain sub-forums like that other forum can do? I usually don't enjoy the off-topic stuff for example.
Another few posts and then I can add some stuff to the for-sale section.

I am not aware of a filter for the new posts, if Al (BigAl205) doesn't chime in, send him a pm about it.
Re: more more yet another DIYMA refugee
Welcome aboard! I'll have to check on the filter thing, I've never tried it.

Welcome to the best mobile audio forum on the interweb!!!
Re: more more yet another DIYMA refugee
Thanks for looking into that Al.
I'd like to setup my avatar here, but I can't grab it from that other place since their avatars are broken haha. So lame.
Re: more more yet another DIYMA refugee
I stumbled upon a link to mobilesoundscience earlier but can't remember how.
What is the relationship to that site? Why are there two separate sites, and what should go where?

There's a link in the top tabs. I used to be an admin there when Adam (autiophile) owned it. When I decided to start CAJ, he told me he didn't have the time to keep it going and offered it to me. It was already dead traffic-wise, so I just merged it over to my server and keep it going as a sort of reference site...it has a lot of good info. I kept getting spammers, so I just decided to shut it down and keep it for archive, but if you guys want to get it crunk back up, I'll be more than happy to allow posting again.
Re: more more yet another DIYMA refugee
Okay, I added a new plugin which allows you to ignore threads or entire forums. Go to the thread tools (or forum tools) in the top right just above the top post, and click "Ignore this thread/forum". You can edit where it gets excluded (new posts, today's posts, forum display) from your user settings panel.

Hey, Justin!
Lol, I understand the sentiment but still good to see a few appreciated 'old friends' as I'm still in the mainly lurking mode getting the feel of this 'new-to-me' ground (glad to see you here for example).
Hope that you, like me, find it encouraging, I'm liking what I see so far and not 'looking back' !
Re: more more yet another DIYMA refugee
Welcome Justin. And look forward to finally meeting you next month after all these years.
