Did it work out, AL?
Totalled?
- or you going to have to get frame straightened ?
Still waiting to hear from the other guy's insurance company. My attorney talked to them (Progressive), and the owner hadn't filed a claim yet. Progressive says they have tried to contact the owner, but he's not responding. They haven't bothered to call me, though.
In the mean time, I'm in a rental.
What a clusterhump! It turns out the guy has insurance, but it maxes out at $25,000. I don't understand how somebody can have liability insurance that doesn't fully cover another vehicle. It looks like I'm back to running the claim thru my insurance, and they are unwilling to total it because the damage isn't 75% of the total value...so looks like it's going to get fixed after all. To add insult to injury, my insurance only covers rental up to $1k, which ran out last week. Now I'm having to pay for the rental until my truck gets fixed.

That's messed up. Seems like State Farm should have helped you out more. How much trouble would it have been for them to go ahead and fix your truck, then fight it out with progressive? Good neighbor, my ass.
That is absolute bullshit! Sue his ass personally, outside of insurance!
Sorry to hear about your troubles, Al. Terrible the way things work out. To add to this story, you might want to start researching if you can file a Diminished Value claim with his insurance. Its worth a shot to get extra money. I did that when my Imprezza got rear-ended and received a bit of extra money. I had to fight a bit for it, but it was worth it in the end.
