The end of a long article about the fall of the Roman empire:
Nevertheless, the revenues of the state remained inadequate to
maintain the national defense. This led to further tax increases, such
as the increase in the sales tax from 1 percent to 4.5 percent in
444 A.D. (Bernardi 1970: 75). However, state revenues continued to
shrink, as taxpayers invested increasing amounts of time, effort and
money in tax evasion schemes. Thns even as tax rates rose, tax revenues
fell, hastening the decline of the Roman state (Bernardi 1970: 81—3).
In short, taxpayers evaded taxation by withdrawing from society altogether.
Large, powerful landowners, able to avoid taxation through
legal or illegal means, began to organize small communities around
them. Small landowners, crushed into bankruptcy by the heavyburden
of taxation, threw themselves at the mercy of the large landowners,
signing on as tenants or even as slaves, (Slaves, of course, paid no
taxes.) The latter phenomenon was so widespread and so injurious to
the state’s revenues, in fact, that in 368 AD. Emperor Valens declared
it illegal to renounce one’s liberty in order to place oneself under the
protection of a great landlord (Bernardi 1970: 49).
In the end, there was no money left to pay the army, build forts
or ships, or protect the frontier. The barbarian invasions, which were
the final blow to the Roman state in the fifth century, were simply
the culmination of three centuries of deterioration in the fiscal capacity
of the state to defend itself. Indeed, many Romans welcomed the
barbarians as saviors from the onerous tax burden.
Although the fall of Rome appears as a cataclysmic event in history,
for the bulk of Roman citizens it had little impact on their way of
life. As Henri Pirenne (1939: 33—62) has pointed out, once the invaders
effectively had displaced the Roman government they settled into
governing themselves. At this point, they no longer had any incentive
to pillage, but rather sought to provide peace and stability in the areas
they controlled. After all, the wealthier their subjects the greater their
taxpaying capacity.
In conclusion, the fall of Rome was fundamentally due to economic
deterioration resulting from excessive taxation, inflation, and overregulation.
Higher and higher taxes failed to raise additional revenues
because wealthier taxpayers could evade such taxes while the middle
class—and its taxpaying capacity—were exterminated. Although the
final demise of the Roman Empire in the West (its Eastern half
continued on as the Byzantine Empire) was an event of great historical
importance, for most Romans it was a relief.
Basically ...
The "Love of Money" is the problem.
Without an understanding of how a society should work, lazy people who love money end up grinding it into pure shit.
These uneducated types just want to get to the top 0 the heap and figure out new ways to get more money given to them to misappropriate.
Paul.... So what is wrong with Ron Paul?
Cuz all I hear from Extreme Right Wing Supporters... Is that he is all wrong. Must be because, he doesn't tow the party line and cater to big corporate interests.

Since this is a Car Audio Forum... Let's keep it simple. Money is just like bass. No matter how much you have.... You always want a little more.
problem is the definitions of right wing and left wing. Left wing = socialism, communism, etc .. right wing = fascism, monarchy, etc .. Problem is, they look the same from the outside. Both of these "sides" have a small group at the top that control everything and it appears here in the US that they have joined teams to control the sheeple. Although lumped with the right wing, the conservatives are not - it's why they are fighting against the republican establishment right now.
I don't suppose there is anything wrong with Ron Paul, he just can't win a national election as a Republican because he is a conservative.
I hope your not talking about the fucking Tea Party?

you will have to have another party if you ever want to wrest control of the government from these professional politicians
"I pity the fate of our great nation if we ever fall into a two party system."
Either Ben Franklin or John Adams.
Can't remember which.

because it becomes an "us against them" mentality. Ever notice that countries with like 6 or more parties have 90+ % participation.?
I really hate that any parties need to exist at all. I guess it's human nature to categorize an simplify things.

What I am getting at is that you need to let the political wars of the past GO. I don't give a fuck how much you hated Clinton... Bush.... I just don't give a fuck... Let it go and move forward. How many held their nose and voted for Romney? THAT. Let THAT SHIT GO. It's holding everybody back.
There's a lot more than that holding people back. That maybe the confines that captivates people. But it's far from the well laid trap that led them blindly into said trap.

I would have to disagree strongly, it was the 8 year drumbeat by the mainstream media of "I hate Bush" that allowed a totally unvetted Obama to get elected. The professional politicians have nearly perfected the politics of division, it's why a 5% win a presidential election is pretty much a beatdown.
just to be clear, let me restate that .... negative campaigning works - big time
Seems WE THE PEOPLE have known that for awhileQuote:
Negative campaigning in America was sired by two lifelong friends, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
I strongly disagree with your former post. How did holding your nose and voting Romney work out for you? Did you know the big ruse was that he never had a fucking chance, but they had to keep viewers glued to the TV. Kinda helps ratings and shit. They gotta sell advertising. It was all a big ruse getting you to think that he had a chance and that your vote really mattered. Big Al had it right... Jill Stein was a great choice. I chose Gary Johnson. Those two choices the media will never talk about.... Why? Corporate owned media. The very same media that brainwashes people into thinking Ron Paul is not electable.
Negative Campaigning works because, the people are overwhelmingly stupid. We have a system that teaches people WHAT TO THINK instead of HOW TO THINK.
Unfortunately, Obama and Romney were the only two choices that had any chance ... and as you point out, the election was rigged from the beginning. Ron Paul, Gary Johnson or any of the other are not electable as long as the mainstream media has control over the sheeple. My thoughts ... if you WANT to be president, you should be disqualified.
We used to use the term RINO (Republican in name only), now more approriately we use the term CINO for republicans that are not conservative, This would be most of the leadership in the party. It's why you can close your eyes and hardly tell a difference between the parties.
This is why I hate party conventions. I'm sure that each party has people who would make decent (if not good) Presidents, but they get don't get the support of the special interests therefore the party snubs them. The party end up nominating the least common denominator, and the American people is forced to vote on the leftover slag.
...unless you vote independent ;)
unfortunately, as I said, independents have no real chance today. We will have to have a bunch of independent reps and senators for an independent president to be effective.
A clear conscience isn't gonna make that cattle prod feel any better.

Maybe the cattle prod is working, and having unintended consequences. I have seen a movement in several states to recall their senators for lambasting instead of supporting Ted Cruz's efforts to derail obamcare.
I've become so cynical to anything resembling a 'reform' notion, that most attempts to gain entry into my wallet will be summarily discarded as shams and political extortion.
maybe that's the crux of any of these newfangled projects that presidents and senators, etc. hang their hats on, we just don't believe anything a politician says anymore.
even if it was a sliced bread epiphany or a lightning bolt out of the blue, I'm gonna say it's created by special interests, bought at the politician level and foisted on the unsuspecting public without their consent or their participation.
I am not sure if you have seen the budgets of many local police departments, but they have been prepping for the backlash for years. WTF do local police departments need all these riot tanks for? There will be no civil war. They will drone your ass. By the time people figure out they are just rats in a cage and that their freedom is just an illusion... it will be too late. Many of you were laughing at Occupy for all of your right wing " get a job hippie " reasons, but you missed the point. Rogan had a great clip showing how much money JP Morgan had conveniently donated to NYPD. Just after all the ruckus started in NY with Occupy... Gee... I wonder why? Those assholes on Wall Street keep stealing NYPD pension funds and those cops might just join the party.

Time to see what happened to the state the trial program was run in.
What state did Mitt institute this in?
Quote:
Romney had unveiled a universal health insurance plan that would become his signature accomplishment
Passing that bill meant working closely with Democrats, and at its ceremonial signing at Boston's Faneuil Hall, Romney spoke as a political uniter: "What is noteworthy is the uncharacteristic collaboration of so many individuals and groups and partisans," Romney said at the time. "And how did that happen? I think it's because of what this bill can lead to — every citizen with affordable, comprehensive health insurance."
The Licoln mem is open to the public, no guards or anything. They spent the time and money to block it off. You can be assured that this shut down will be made just as painful as possible.
So is congress furloughed too?
What makes you think that all the local police and military professionals will go along with an outright attack on our freedoms?

2014 is coming up, lets vote these would be heroes out !
There intentions are taking us all straight to hell.
You can bet their salaries, pensions, and all that are fully funded.
As most of you know I don't really go out of my way to talk about this stuff anymore, and instead I've chosen to just be an "observer" for the most part, and a careful scrutineer of the rest.
HOWEVER, the "shut-down" comes in line with what I believe (and indeed have long believed and talked about) to be occurring right now. The reset is coming, and I think the insiders are well aware of it. So they pretty much don't give a fuck, though they try to act like they do so the general sheep won't get rustled up too much.
Even mainstream non-fringe independent researchers of this topic agree that a reset MUST occur, and soon.
The problem is that the struggle for control is in vain and just delays the inevitable conclusion. This is known at the highest levels of compartmentalized hierarchy, but the middle-men are still playing the game as if they can win it. Still trying to pollute the world, dumb everyone down, start some wars, make more energetic negative emotional responses en-mass, etc. Meanwhile, humanity (with each individual human being on its own path and own timeframe) is well on its way to getting free and clear of all this bullshit.
Thus what you have is glaring contrast. You can see it in the formed opinion of most people you talk to. NSA? Bad. Fiat Debt? Bad. Etc, etc. Sure, the still-asleep are out there, but their numbers are dwindling and they are joining the awake. The proof is in the air. Ask yourself, could you even have this conversation a year ago with someone you could now? Likely now they are a lot more receptive and aware than they once were.
I still suspect there will be a major, major visible shift either in sync with an emotional/spiritual one, OR alongside a major cataclysmic or potentially cataclysmic event. Or "EVENT" if you get my meaning there. We are missing one major catalyst to act like a final alarm clock for the asleep while also serving as the "fight bell" for the awake. When will this thing happen? I actually expected it by now. Energetically I think its already happened or is happening now. But it hasn't become physical yet, and is being created in the NOW based of the energetic transfer that has occurred. Basically what I'm saying here is the groundwork is or has already been laid and we're bringing it to the physical world quite soon. I catch the visualization of a lion's roar. Sudden, extreme, a little frightening and very eye-opening.
I have been seeing synchronicities with such constant flow that I feel this is all happening exactly like it should be. We're doing this (we're creating the vibrational creationary footprint energetically), and the "shutdown" is just a precursor to a much bigger potentiality, with all possibilities in that sphere serving a purpose to further wake us up. This does mean I have absolutely no idea what is coming, just that it IS.
Fuckin awesome!
