Looking real nice. Don't forget a pole in the middle.
Poles absolutely suck unless they're on stage with a long-legged single mom spinning around it.
Not when they're just right in the way.

My sister has 4 poles in her 3 car garage. Absolutely the worst ever.
My last house had an 1800 SF basement garage, sounds like heaven right, NOPE!! Had more poles than a bag of magnets, had about a 12 X 18 area that I could actually use for a car.
Well, we got up 3 walls today...it was hot as balls today (95º with 87% humidity). Getting 2x6 walls up onto 4' stem walls took some trial and error, but we're now on to straight framing. Now that it's partially done, i can get a sense for how big the space is...and it's effin huge (that's what she said). I now have walls that would make Donald Trump proud. :D
^^^^
I expected more from an Internet entrepreneur.
Due to sweltering heat and rain delays, they didn't get it closed in, but it's coming along. Pics don't do it justice in regards to the amount of space. I couldn't be happier :pepper:

That's YUUUUGE!!
Lookin good, Al
Whoa! When I was there standing in the space I didn't realize how large the footprint was!
It's funny, the guys left their trailer here...so rather than trying to dodge it while backing in, I dust drove straight in and did a 3-point turn inside the garage :D
How big of a section of wall at a time did you guys raise up on to the block? Looks like that would be quite a chore. There's nothing wrong with plenty of room.
Well, the first section was the one to the left, and it was 30' long...so basically it was like 3 guys lifting a 10' section individually. We nailed wood blocks on the rimplate to keep it from sliding off the back, lifted the footer up onto the block, then started tilting up the header in increments using different lengths of support sticks. After that, we just decided to break the walls up into 2 or 3 sections and use a nice straight top late to align everything.
lookin good. will be nice once finished
I see a garage party in your future. Looks great so far Al.
Holy shit what a garage! You should come build me one next.....no, really......lol.
That is big pimpin!!!
That's a lot of wood! Is that the most wood you've ever had, Al? Hopefully you wood lasts until you can get it protected.
Serious question... is there anything between the cinder block and the wood plate?
Love it when a plan comes together. Looking good Al!

That much ceiling height would be awesome if you decide to get a lift one day. For now though it will give you quite a bit of storage if you build those bulkheads. It's amazing how much different it will feel once you get decking on top of those trusses. Looks good.
My roofing guy sent these pics after he finished up. They weren't quite done by the time I had to leave for work

I've looked at these too to protect against kick in damage.
