What did they charge you to lay the brick?
$2600 labor and materials
If you ever need any more laid please call me.
Did they dig and poor the footings?
I use to be a mason in my former life. Then I got smart and seen how hard it is on the body and it is not very financially secure career for retirement. Example my 70 year old father and my 84 year old uncle are still working and laying brick. I also made $25 and hour and 1990 doing it. The pay for masons here locally is around $18 today with no benefits. Everyone talks about skilled trades is a great career and I agree it is good to learn a skill that has to still be performed by a human but the wages that are paid is ludacris and it is so boom or bust.
4 more hours on it today

I'm mostly complete now. At least with the stuff I myself can do.
I finished the siding last Sunday.

Then I was able to finish the fascia trim.

This is the trim around the garage door that I'll need someone with a brake to make for me.

Yesterday I got the garage door working so by request here are some interior pictures.

Wow...excellent progress. Those LED strips really put out the light. Where did you get them?
They are Satco 36W 4 ft LED strip lights. Here is a link. https://www.gordonelectricsupply.com...SABEgJ3yPD_BwE
The seem to go for $34 to $42 each. You can daisy chain them as well according to the literature.
The final 2 steps are:
1) get someone to bend the coil stock around the garage door trim
2) pour the concrete under the shelter overhang (probably this fall when my budget allows)
Well I guess really 3 steps because I got to organize all my crap in there. That's a never ending process though.
Built a work bench today.

And the top completed

I used some of the left over sheeting I had for this. 7/16" for the bottom shelf and 3/4" Advantech flooring for the top. I can put a piece of hardboard or laminate over the top if I screw it up.
Nice work my friend!
I'm adding insulation in the walls and finishing with plywood sheathing. I'm going slow as time and funds allow.

I'm thinking plywood on 3 walls and pegboard over the bench.
I'm looking into the slatwall stuff on one wall. Gotta use that stuff sparingly though because it's expensive.
I'm still doing some work.

Party at Kendal's!!!
The foil goes on the outside. Tear it down and start over
I made this little drawer so I wouldn't have to crawl under bench to look at nails and screws. I may make some more cause it sure is convenient.
I used these drawer slides if you were curious

I added some knee braces for decoration under the shelter.

I tried to make a homemade brake on my own and that did not work out. No pictures of that failure.

A contractor friend of mine is supposed to come and pour the concrete under the shelter next week. This thing might get finished!
That's sexy, right there.

Just a little seeding work left for that to be finished.
A final pin in this project. This past Friday I made the last payment on my Lowe's credit card. So this bad boy is paid off!
Since I can never leave well enough alone......I wanted storage for the mower and generator so I don't have to work around them or move out of the way when doing projects. I also want to leave the car in here and still have room to move around it.
I decided a small lean-to style storage space would work out.
This was completed yesterday over the course of about 3 weekends off and on.

I feel like if I hired you for a few weeks, my garage would be finished already.
That's nice. I need one too. Tired of moving everything out of the way. Or maybe I could try cleaning first. I love your garage. I enjoyed meeting you this past weekend.
