One thing that might blow you away about this circuit board is what you CAN'T see. This board probably has 4 to 8 layers of copper trace patterns. That means there are circuit board patterns stacked in the middle of this design. This is needed to properly route power and ground to all of the little components you see on the board. Geo you are totally right about the tracing vs etching... I actually spent a couple years in the sales and marketing division for a photomask company... I should know this stuff and use the right terms...I used to be in the printing industry/photolithography for 8 or so years after college. I'd love to see some examples, I find a lot of satisfaction in a well though out design.
If you are not sitting back and having fun every once in a while, then what is the point? I always get a kick out of the JPL boys & girls when they decide to let their hair down and have some fun.

The guy in the video is hilarious. BTW, the green circuit board in the video was a 4x4 panel of switching power supplies. Break them apart at the score line and use them for projects.
