Want to meet at Henhouse after you're finished working?
The third Saturday is next weekend. Since it's harder to have a meetup with breakfast in person, I propose a digital hangout with a purpose. I can share one of a few fun things:
1) SMAART Live software is kind of like Room EQ Wizard but it allows you to see impulse response, phase, and frequency response on the same screen and in real-time. It allows a much more intuitive way to "see" how the three things interact and the folks I've shown it to have really enjoyed it. I can setup a live demo to show how time alignment, polarity, phase, and frequency response all interact in a real system (my living room).
2) Sigma Studio is a free-form digital signal processing environment that controls DSP chips from Analog Devices, Sharc, and others. You can buy a generic demo board that has 2 input channels and 3 output channels for ~$50 from parts express, or you can buy an Analog Devices demo board from Digikey or Amazon for $180 that has 4 inputs and 8 outputs. I can setup a live demo of how to setup and use Sigma Studio to create the DSP of your dreams and show why it is infinitely more powerful than anything else you can buy on the market.
3) I can preset the build log of the small bookshelf speakers I made. They are a 2-way system using inexpensive drivers and crossover parts and are powered by an inexpensive amp. Total cost is ~$100 including wood, amp, speakers, and crossover parts. These measure +/-2dB from 85hz to 29khz and were a lot of fun to build. The goal would be to show you how to build a passive pair of speakers, and invite you to raid my personal stash of passive crossover parts (about 100lbs worth!).
4) ..... of you can share something cool!
I suppose Zoom is what all the cool kids are using these days?
This is the demo board I'm talking about:

$187.50
Attachment 10092
Or, for like $60 you can get the Dayton dsp kernel board, 2 in 3 out, and usb programmer.

Or this with dsp and 2x50w

Not quite as good as the one Justin listed, but it is a good cheap alternative to experience sigma studio.
I'm in like flynn!
I'll start a Zoom call at 10am tomorrow morning and post a link here.
Everyone else is welcome to join.
Waz Up?
Sorry friend, that didn't work.
That's ok. My contact info is in the emails I've traded with you. Add my # to your cell and keep me posted with any info about local meetups. Thx.
