Wife always uses bows on the top of our tree, so I asked her to let me try something this year. Woke up one morning with this idea, turned out pretty sharp.

Had a scrap piece of pine leftover from some recent additions to our family room, so found a star pattern online, traced it, and used the bandsaw to cut:

Bench sander and a handheld orbital made short work of the corners, then rubbed it with Danish Oil:

Took a coat hanger, cut it, then used the small end of a Shop Vac extension wand to form the coil. Drilled a hole, and presto! Tree topper complete:

I dont give my wife an option. It helps that my kids really enjoy it too and they would throw a fit if it wasnt there.
