That's Uncle Larry
And Larry was his name-o!!!
Did Larry have the original Front Sub?
If we count the front subs in Porsches (or other similar vehicles), this https://www.caraudiojunkies.com/show...highlight=Katz is the earliest I could find.
I'm not so sure a Porsche qualifies. Front subs are all the rage right now. I can't imagine losing leg space for a long trip. I have heard a few but never did a direct comparison of the same car with and without front sub. I have liked the sound from all the cars I have heard with a front sub. I just don't think it's for me. It may be the cars I'm driving but I have never had a problem getting the bass upfront nor have I had a problem integrating with midbass. Tuning and install have a lot to do with it.
Okay, if we can't count rear/mid engine vehicles, I guess we shouldn't count the 2nd Gen Chevrolet C/K trucks that probably had console subs due to fuel tank location. In that case, we shall give the front sub award to Earl Zausmer and his 1994 BMW 540. https://www.caraudiojunkies.com/show...-1995-CA-amp-E. When I experimented with front subs in 1998/1999, I used the room immediately in front of the seats so the enclosure had little effect on leg room.
