For the first time ever I don't work on a Saturday so I decided to put the Murder Mat I have to use. Put a couple sheets in the trunk lid with no issues. Now what I ran into when I went to deaden the doors is what to do with the stock stuff. There is a very thin layer of rubber adhered to the door from the factory.
What should I do about it? From my research the point of deadening the doors is to seal it off but there are some pretty big holes that are covered up by the stock stuff. I don't have the time or resources today to try and seal up the holes nicely.
Here's what I've come up with for options:
1. Remove stock deadener, add murder mat around holes, re-adhere stock stuff
2. Put murder mat over stock stuff
3. Leave doors alone completely
4. Remove stock deadener, deaden over big holes
5. Remove stock deadener, deaden around holes
What is my best option?
